Drawings by Robert Boisson
September 19, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Having grown up in Reno, Nevada, graduating from Reno High School and receiving an art degree from UNR, this is ‘home’ for Robert (Bob) Boisson. His aesthetics are largely influenced by Nevada’s vast geography, its cultural diversity and for its outlaw fringes of activities, lifestyles and characters.
Boisson embraces the challenge of using the populist artistic format of caricatures to make (hopefully) meaningful artistic statements since his artistic ‘atmosphere’ is fine art. Caricatures are commonly known to exaggerate the essence of specific people, living or dead. His drawings are not that. These drawings are about moments, attitudes, unspoken messages. And, especially, ‘story’.
As a life-long observer, researcher and creator he produces photography, illustration and fine art. Foundations for his art include his love of nature, a study of psychology and cultural beliefs, concerns for the human condition, and an acute appreciation for humor in its many strange and wonderful manifestations.
Come experience Robert’s work in person during his drawing exhibition at Pitch Black Printing Company from September 19 – October 7, with an artist reception on September 19 from 5 to 8 p.m.
